Audio Tracker — How To Use
Playback tool + automatic music cue sheet completion
Before the Show
1
Enter Event Info — tap 📋 Event Info and fill in the show name, matchup, air date, network, producer, and all other fields. This information will automatically populate the header of your exported cue sheet — you won't have to type it manually in Excel.
2
Load Tracks — tap ▶ Load Tracks to stream the full music library. The tool will load all sports: Olympic Sports, Football, Basketball, and Diamond Sports, with Theme and Support subcategories.
3
Load Cue Sheet Templates (optional but recommended) — tap 📄 Templates and load your Excel cue sheet template files (.xlsx). When you export at the end of the show, play counts will be written directly into the Number Of Uses column of the actual cue sheet template — ready to submit to music.cue.sheets@espn.com.
4
Choose your mode — use Production for on-air work where plays are counted, or Audition to preview tracks off-air without logging them.
Production vs Audition Mode
🔴 Production
Every play that runs for 5 seconds or more is logged and counted. Track turns green with a ✓ when played. Use this mode whenever you are on air.
◎ Audition
Preview any track freely without logging plays. Use this to pick your next track before a break. Plays are not counted toward the cue sheet.
Playing Tracks
Tap once to start playing. The Now Playing bar at the top shows the track name, elapsed time, and total duration.
Tap the same track again to fade it out smoothly over ~1 second.
Tap a different track while one is playing to crossfade — the current track fades out automatically as the new one fades in.
5-second rule: A play only counts if the track runs for at least 5 seconds. The small white marker on the progress bar shows exactly where that threshold is. Short accidental taps will not be logged — they appear as SKIP in the log instead.
During the Show
Reset Played — clears all green play states and resets counts. Use this between games or shows.
Green tracks indicate a track has already aired this show, so you don't accidentally repeat yourself.
End of Show — Submitting the Cue Sheet
1
Tap ⬇ Export. If you loaded the ESPN template files earlier, the tool will fill in the Number Of Uses column for every track you played, in every sheet (Theme-Promo and Support), and download the completed files.
2
If no templates were loaded, a standalone Play Count Summary and full Playback Log spreadsheet will be exported instead.
3
Email the completed cue sheet to music.cue.sheets@espn.com — include sport, air date, and matchup in the subject line.
